If You Can Dream it, You Can Do It!
As a stubby girl, I began with colors and piece of paper. I remember clutching crayons with my cramped fingers and drawing pictures from my imagination. I enjoyed showing my smaller siblings and cousins my work and they would try to copy what I drew. I have been told by my family that an important piece a teacher needs is patience and motivation, and they said that’s what you had. Ever since then, I realized that’s what I wanted to do after high school.
During that time I was only a four year old that only knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up; I didn’t know what I needed to do in order to get there. Now that I am older, I’ve had the chance to tutor kids and see what it’s like to be a teacher. I tutored kids my junior year in high school when I chose Careers and Education as an elective. It was my favorite class that I enjoyed being every minute in. It taught me how kids learn through their senses and the steps it takes them to learn what they have to learn by the stage they are in. The best thing was doing the “Baby Project”, where we had to take care of a fake baby for a week and write down everything it wanted like: Feed, burp, diaper change, etc. It was challenging, but also fun because I felt like mom.
Finally, my senior year in high school I chose Careers and Education II. I’ve had much more experiences with kids this year. I have had the chance to tutor preschoolers through second graders and also 6th graders. I realized I adore being with the little kids more than the upper grades because they are easier to control. It was cool having to go off campus during school hours.
Right now, I am focused on finding a job after school working with kids in the after school program. This job would fit perfectly with me because I have the patience tutoring and nurturing them. Also, I cherish kids so much I would enjoy going to this type of job everyday.
Though I’ve had this experience with kids I still have a long way to go. Soon, I will be applying to colleges that will help me accomplish my dream job. I appetite to apply to a community college and transfer to Fresno State and I will be a college student with a job at the same time. I choose this because I want to make my parents memorable to have a daughter that never gives up even though others have told me I can’t do it. Later in life once I’m done with college I will have my own family, house, and eventually be a teacher already and I’ll be proud of myself and I’ll be able to say “I had a dream and I made it come true.''

Life Map
Life Map Synopsis
Everyone has goals in their life but some never try to accomplish them. I have essential goals and hopefully one day I attain them to a point where I can say that I did it. First of all, my goal this year is to graduate with a GPA of at least a 3.5. Since I’m in the Spanish Honors Society club they expect us to get a GPA of a 3.5 or higher in order to graduate with honors. After that, my goal is to go to a community college to take all my general classes and from there transfer to a University. Also, my target is to be a teacher and work in a school to teach the little ones. An exciting goal is to get a maroon car one day and cruise around in it when I visit my family that live hours away. Lastly, one day I will meet “the one” in my life and hopefully I marry that person to form a family and travel together to meet new people and places.
