My winter break this year was spectacular. I traveled to Mexico to visit my great grandma that is 90 years old now. The best part of being at Mexico is having a taste of all the different type of food they have and even better, their ice-cream. I can say the ice-cream is one of the finest because it’s freshly hand made. It was so much fun going to various places and getting to meet new people. However one of the saddest things I saw there were people living in houses made of mud, bricks, rock or even in the streets just asking for money.
Reflecting back to first semester, I was really happy with my schedule. I enjoyed every single class and my goal was to go level 4s throughout the whole year. One of the best things that happened during first semester was homecoming and bell week. They were the most exciting and amusing days of all time. However I regret not running for queen, it would have been such a great recapture. Another thing is I should have applied to more colleges because I know I could have gotten accepted. The reality of last semester has hit me hard in a way that made me think of going to a different college.
Before graduation I need to complete my community hours. I’m planning to work at the after school program and helping kids with their homework. This will also comfort me for the future since I want to study Liberal Studies and be an elementary teacher one day. Also I need to present my exit interview. I would have been done with it by now but I had to sign up for early completion and by that time I was still at Mexico. So, by March or April I will be doing it and hopefully I get a good score. Another, I still need to finish my FAFSA application. I haven’t finished it because I got kind of stuck on a page so my counselor will help me with that very soon. College applications have been going pretty good so far. I applied to community colleges and I actually already took a placement test for one of them. I am currently now waiting for the next placement test for COS.
During summer vacation I applied for an internship job. I worked for two weeks and I loved it! They are wanting people to apply again for another internship and of course I applied again. I’m not only into teaching, however I’m very into business and accounting. These type of internships are for business students to have more experience of what it is like to work in a office, have their own company, or just deal with numbers whether it’s just working in a bank. So, I am really hoping I get called again to work for these amazing business people. Once I get called and graduation passes, I’ll have more experience for when I go to college.
